Fifa: The support will be used to purchase and distribute essential humanitarian goods, as well as to provide emergency and temporary shelter and protection.
The FIFA Foundation will furnish one million dollars in emergency humanitarian aid for the populations affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, which caused the death of over 42,000 people.
After consultation with the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) and the Syrian Football Federation (SFA), along with international and local NGOs, the aid will be used to purchase and distribute essential humanitarian goods, as well as provide emergency and temporary shelter and protection.
FIFA will resume cooperating with the TFF and the SFA, monitoring the situation and deciding on further action. In recent days, the International Olympic Committee has also donated the same amount of emergency aid to people affected by the earthquakes.
